Severna Park, Maryland is full of fun! Bound by the Severn River and Magothy River, Severna Park offers loads of summer fun with water skiing, fishing, boating and swimming.
The Baltimore and Annapolis Trail, also know as the B&A trail winds through Severna Park along what was formally the Baltimore and Annapolis railway. The abandoned railway has been converted to a linear hike/bike trail. The B&A trail is part of the Rail to Trails Conservancy, a national organization that converts abandoned railways to public use. The trail is serviced by hundreds of volunteers yearly. The Severna Park Railroad Station sits along the trail. Additional recreation facilities include Kinderpark, Lake Waterford park, Cypress Park and numerous community parks throughout the town.
Numerous 55+ adult communities have sprung up recently due to the wonderful senior centers provided by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging. Severna Park schools have gained a strong reputation in academics and athletics. Numerous independent and parochial school and career/tech centers are available. Anne Arundel Community College, a two-year progress college, is located in Arnold, Maryland within a short drive from Severna Park.
